    Introducing qqTimer!

Thanks to who ever moved my thread into the proper location. I didn't search well enough. Thanks Lucas. I had considered that it might be a server issue. I am jumping back to using qqtimer.net so I can keep my 400 BLD solve times.

    Introducing qqTimer!

That version is even better, but I am worried the URL might not remain active for several years.

    Introducing qqTimer!

Thanks, I will use http://mzrg.com/qqtimer/ instead of http://www.qqtimer.net even though I thought the latter was the official one. By "dependable" scramble, I prefer "random state" instead of "old style" to avoid lucky scrambles (especially for 2x2). Regarding number of BLD times per line --...

    Introducing qqTimer!

qqtimer not working? Just within the past day or two, the timer at http://www.qqtimer.net started having problems. It now longer allows the timer to be started. Also, unless you manually choose "3x3 old style" then you will not get a 3x3 scramble. Should I be using something else? I want...

Should WCA Bring Back Age Statistics?

You misinterpreted me. I did not "quit" competitions because age statistics were removed. I merely lost my motivation for going. I am not a fast cuber, so I need to justify to myself why I should travel and spend time at a competition.

Should WCA Bring Back Age Statistics?

I am nearly 60 years old. I enjoyed telling my friends that I was the 2nd (or 3rd or 4th) oldest blindfold solver in the World Cubing Association. I had the link in my Facebook posts and my "about" section. The only reason I attended competitions was to see my name on the Statistics page and...

    The One-Answer Question Thread [closed]

I was not all that fast, maybe 35 seconds in the Sunday Contest. I was always near the bottom of the list. Maybe you are thinking of someone else?

    The One-Answer Question Thread [closed]

I was one of the oldest 3x3 blindfold solvers. I am going on 59 years old, but I have less reason to attend now that they removed the category for "oldest blindfold solvers".

You can also consider the 3OP method (which I use). You can read up on methods at http://cubefreak.net/bld/ .

    The One-Answer Question Thread [closed]

Until recently, the World Cube Association had a Statistics page that included the youngest/oldest Rubik's Cube solvers and the youngest/oldest Rubik's Cube Blindfold solvers. Why did they remove these categories?

    Your Thoughts on CubeTimer 2.0

It would make more sense to offer a START/STOP button and permit the Home button to work normally than to change the Home button behavior and add an Exit button. I recommend the Start/Stop button be optional, for devices without a spacebar. By the way, with the old Cubetimer, I would toggle on...

    Your Thoughts on CubeTimer 2.0

Dan, thanks. I've been using Cubetimer more than qqtimer or iitimer because separating the various puzzle results is so important to me. If your new timer had all the options I want for my iPhone or iPad, I would pay for it. Options I want: Selecting puzzles of type "BLD" should assume no WCA...

    Cubetimer.com shut down?

Cubetimer has been more useful to me than other timers because it easily separates my results for my various puzzles. I wish the 3x3 BLD selection would automatically disable WCA inspection and display results as "fulltime[memotime]". I use qqtimer to record my blindfold solves because it...

What's your solving orientation for BLD?

YO. Yellow on top, orange in front. I would have chosen the WCA scramble standard of White-Green if I was aware of it at the time I started BLD. I chose mine because I do my regular solves with white on the bottom (hence yellow on top). I use 3OP and my usual buffer position is at UB. I felt the...

    Mathematical Doodling

I like her "Snakes on a Plane" video. Years ago, I had a method of interlocking many paper loops such that if any one of them was cut, all remaining loops would become disconnected. (I think I did up to 10 loops. It looked like a ball, the way they interlocked.
