is there a better way to execute this than than starting with R2' U2' (right thumb on UR, right index on UDR, doing the U2' with left index & middle finger)?
(edit: ninja'd by escher, though i agree with him as well)
i agree with everything above.
some additional things which have always helped me (and i have held speeches in front of 600+ people in university):
- try to imagine the people in front of you in really silly underwear, don't imagine...
cct gave me this insane 3x3 scramble:
(scramble with cross-colour on bottom)
D2 R D2 U2 B F2 D F2 L2 D U2 R' B' U R2 B' D' B2 F' D2 L U F2 R
edge-control rewarded me with a pll skip :)
double x-cross: D' U2 R
3rd: U' R U R'
4th: L U' L' U L U L'
edge-control: U L U L' d' R' U2 R B d' R'...

hmm, i'm a bit surprised.
there we're a lot of things missing.
actually i started the test with comparing the english and the german version - they are different.
took me a couple of years.

I understood it like this:
You were able to solve the cube with some other method, then switched to Fridrich and all over sudden you were sub-20.

my solves could be interesting for some, because i'm using edge control on the 4th pair, some winter variation and some multislotting (WV for cases i know and recognise quick enough):
1) D' B2 F2 U' R2 U' F2 L2 R2 D' R2 B2 R2 B' L' F D' R' U' B D2 F'
cross: R' F D'U'R' B2 (6)
1st: U R U R' U2...
