    WCA Scramble Algorithm

I have been away for quite sometimes, glad to see people on the forum still actively discussing non-issues and try to convince each other with subjective opinion :)
  2. Q

    Upcoming puzzles

No they dont, cheap interns from local university can do the job, the Moyu management doesn't care, we the cubers still buy them anyway.
  3. Q

    Upcoming puzzles

To add on to this, remember when modding was a thing? This will give some "advantages" to some cubers, but it was allowed, so I dont think pre-release cube is unfair.

New Year's Cubing Resolution for 2023

Guess I will do mine too: Now 30/42 CMLL, totally no EOLR lol, but hey, I got Ao1000 sub 20 :) Learnt but unlearnt lol Went once, get into second round (total 4 round) Hopefully I can finish CMLL and EOLR in 2024 :)
  5. Q

    Upcoming 3x3s

I suspect you worry too much. These are made of plastic, the initial cost is high, but the manufacturing is not. They wont worry too much on their existing stock. It might be hard for many to imagine, but opening up everything and take out the core for other product, usually cost more than you...

    Upcoming 3x3s

    Me too!!! That's exciting!!
  7. Q

    Upcoming 3x3s

True. Also maybe selling the kit will create some inventory risk? the additional profit might not be worth taking the risk?
  8. Q

    Upcoming 3x3s

To maximise the profits, I really think MOYU should sell the 20 magnet ball core as a kit also, a lot of owners will not but another cube just for that, but they will likely spend some money on the kit.
  9. Q

    Upcoming puzzles

no turning sound, and the logo on white center piece is subjectively yucky. the blue looks darker than what we normally have though
  10. Q

Should minimum move counts be removed?

(Do you realise you are making assumption that every top solvers has almost the same quality?) You have to remember, it's not the "variabilities" of scrambles that make solves time varies, it is the possible solutions. Increase the minimum move counts means a more "scrambled" scrambles, which...
  11. Q

Should minimum move counts be removed?

Pretty sure it will be a even lower chance statistically for discrete event. That being said, it essentially means that the currently crowded scene is more responsible by 5,6,7,8 movers, so let's increase the minimum to a even higher number I guess.
  12. Q

Should minimum move counts be removed?

Please figure out by yourself. If you insist and think your "idea" is correct, there is no need for discussion. Please engage WCA for rule & regulation change. And their will politely reject, or maybe ignore. And if you dont agree with the rules and regulation, please dont take part of any...
  13. Q

Should minimum move counts be removed?

We put in effort to explain things, we don't expect every kids to know everything, but please put in effort to read and digest what we write. (Never thought I would need to quote myself one day)
  14. Q

Should minimum move counts be removed?

Average, but that's not contradicting to what I reply. Top solvers are getting more and more similar times, both singles and average. We actually needs higher minimum numbers to raise the difficulties, for both singles and average.
  15. Q

Should minimum move counts be removed?

Lower/remove the number for better chance of world records? You must have forgotten something. WCA guideline & regulation is meant for competition, and guess what's the purpose of a competition? It's to find the best competitor among competitors. Indeed with a smaller minimum number, we can...
