What was the first "Speed Cube"

I'll give a quick history lesson on the evolution of the speedcube. My knowledge spans from about 2006, so there are a few years prior that I'm not entirely certain about, but generally around that time, speedcubes became the new norm. Initially, people were generally all solving Rubik's...

    Moyu GuoGuan Yuexiao?

Anyone have a problem with slight catches with the YueXiao? The corners sometimes catches on the center pieces if you try to cut it through. You can replicate this by doing an R' 30 degrees, so that the bottom line of the UFR corner is in the middle of the front center piece. If you slowly...

    [Help Thread] Puzzle Choice Thread

If you like smooth cubes tanglong is the way to go. Holy crap is it buttery, feels like it's almost over lubed when it's virtually dry. I think it's a great cube and decently fast but not overly, just my two cents.

    [Help Thread] Sticker thread

Are the florian cut Cubesmith stickers good enough to fit most cubes? I know some cubes like the Tanglong have kind of weirdly cut pieces, so I'm hesitant to buy Cubesmith if they don't fit the shape.

I gave up speedcubing 5 years ago. Now I'm back and I need your help.

Hi, OP! One week ago, I was exactly in your shoes. When I was younger, around 13-14, I was hooked, and got as fast as ~18 averages. Haven't cubed since 2008-ish. I left a cube at my office desk, and a few people asked me to demonstrate. After a little bit of practice, I could get to...

Which cube type is your favorite?

I've been cubing since 2005, a time when the best choice of cubes were broken-in store bought cubes and Rubik's DIY. I took a little time off cubing, and recently, I looked at some of the popular cube choices and was amazed by the vast amount of options that have been made available in the...
