Really not viable, 3 look and you get diag/adj swap 5/6 solves = average 20+ moves
Ortega is much better as there are fewer and faster algs. Im not sure what you have against adj/diag diag/adj, but the algs are very fast (faster than pure diag).
I disassembled the cube until only the screws and centre bases were left on, then i got some pliers and cut of around half a centimetre off of the three sticky outy bits(the ends of the traingular centre base) on each base (24 in total). After reassembling there was a lot less catching than before.
Just did ~ 250 solves and broke all the UWRs :)
Single 8.83
avg5 11.62
avg12 12.91
avg50 14.42
avg100 14.69
I managed to drop around 0.5 seconds after modifying my puzzle slightly so that's cool.
Here's a more in-depth explanation: first you make the first layer as normal. Then you would solve one of the corners + the E layer edge that would go beneath it. Then you would solve the same pieces for an adjacent corner + the U edge that goes between that corner and the previously solved...
I'm averaging around 16-17 seconds with a quite basic method me and Rob Yau came up with. It involves solving the first layer as normal and then reducing it down to 2 gen.
i got one a few weeks ago and have been averaging between 30 and 35 with a lucky single of 16.31. My method is: layer (doesnt need the centre) -> edges -> centres -> wings. sonetimes i solve centres and edges together.

Got a cheeky 1.90 on skewb which isn't even good
slaughtered all chance of NR with a counting 4.8
Sub 10 on square-1 despite my 2nd fastest official solve being 12.xx
I'm still terrible at pyra
1:09.xx in mega but a counting 1:3x.xx killed my average
Oops, DNF'ed clock final
Apparently...
3x3: sub 9
4x4: sub 39
5x5: sub 1:07
