I went from 50 average to 1:20 avg on 4x4 but my 5x5 average didnt change

so i quit cubing for a year, and have a comp this weekend. (i havent practiced or really touched a cube since like august 2020). Has rhe hardwear changed at all? just wondering if the tengyun v2 is still viable and competing against top cubes

first last layer skip (no auf as well) in 2 years of cubing lol it was soooo dumb because i accidentally inserted a pair into wrong slot and to fix it i got a sledge into LL skip 8.34 single which is pretty insane as well

i started in 2018 and its been canberra worlds in melbourne adelaide (cancelled) gold coast (i know that we had it in 2015 and 2016 but only a handful of cubers were active then and now in sydney, and sydney has grown from abt 130 people in layte 2018 to about 300 cubers who go to comps

just use ortega but dont do bad cases for layer just diag swap and layer i avg sub 3 with only ortega algs just make sure u are familiar with the algs and practice good luck in your quest for NR!

My friend Jode (averages like mid to low 1) got a 0.63 ao5 on 2x2 absolutely ridiculous scrambles, with the mean of length of solutions (move count of solve) being 8 moves lol

39.03 on 4x4 11.89 ao100 on 3x3 mid 10 ao12 on 3x3 3 more sub 10 averages on 3x3 (i now have 5 sub 10 averages not including rolling averages from others) I also got another 3 sub 8's, bringing my total to 5
