i can do the U perm, but i'm struggling to do a fast finger trick for it,i can do a finger trick for the first four moves, other than that i struggle to go fast :fp

First tell us which algorithm you use for the U perm, and which one you are talking about (Clockwise, Counterclockwise, or both)

M2 U M U2 M' U M2

 either you typed it wrong,or i'm doing it wrong, you do the alg i listed, and look at the pieces it swaps, what you just said does a 3 cycle of edges :fp

Your alg is actually an F Perm from the looks of it. Thrawst must have made a typo.

I rather enjoy this one:

(R' U2 R' U') y (R' F' R2 U' R' U R' F R U' F)

That's just cause some people here are absolutely incapable of using any other definition than the one they're used to, even when the different one is explicitly given twice.

And you expect us to use something different to the name that we ourselves have given to the PLLs?

This is one I spent a looong time on. The problem with the common (probably best) U perm is that the R turns go in the same direction which makes a regrip almost inevitable. Anyway, here's what I do:

U-Perm (a)
R2 U' R' U', R U R U R U' R
[start with thumb on BDR, index on FUR] R2 U' R' [with left index] U' [regrip, thumb on BDR, index on FRD] R [with ring finger] U R [with index] U R [with thumb] U' R

U-Perm (b) - my favourite :)
R' U R' U', R' U' R' U R U R2
[start with thumb on UR, index on DR] R' U R' [with left index] U' [regrip, thumb on UR, index on DR] R' [left index] U' R' [ring finger] U R [index finger] U R2

EDIT: Soz if you really meant F perm, but hopefully this will help someone who clicked the thread because of the title ;)

Wow, I should have tried the alg before assuming that someones U perm was, in fact, a U perm.

Are you guys sleeping?

The thread title alone should tell you that this guy is probably a beginner. The guy wants to do an F perm. The site he's using lists it as a U perm (so the site is wrong), which is why he's referring to it as a U-perm (and since he's probably a beginner, he thinks it's the same thing). If you looked at the alg he posted in his second post, you'll see it's an F perm.

Dude, your F perm sucks. Here's a nicer one:

R' U2 R' d' R' F' R2 U' R' U R' F R U' F
