Obviously cross can always be solved in 8 moves or less. I'm curious if EO reduces that? Couldn't find anything on the wiki specifically addressing this. Currently experimenting with EOcross in my casual solves.

It's at least five because you could have all four edges in the u layer misoriented by a quarter turn. ie: R2 F2 L2 B2 UI think it is 4 moves atmost, I have not verified this.
I may be wrong yo
is this assuming EO has to be preserved or not ?Obviously cross can always be solved in 8 moves or less. I'm curious if EO reduces that? Couldn't find anything on the wiki specifically addressing this. Currently experimenting with EOcross in my casual solves.
Preserved. A cross preserving EO should be as fast if not faster than one destroying EO if EO is already solved.is this assuming EO has to be preserved or not ?
it still should be 8 or less. The avg when cross is solved already is 5-6 movesObviously cross can always be solved in 8 moves or less. I'm curious if EO reduces that? Couldn't find anything on the wiki specifically addressing this. Currently experimenting with EOcross in my casual solves.
i think you made a typo cause if the cross is solved then it takes 0 moves to solve the cross.it still should be 8 or less. The avg when cross is solved already is 5-6 moves
Assuming white on top and that as the scramble you could solve it with:Here's one that needs 6 moves: L' R' B2 U' L' D.
U2 R2And what about R'U R'U R'U R' isn't that 7?
Or does someone have a better solution?
I was referring to the cross on bottom, so yellow if you scramble with white on top.Assuming white on top and that as the scramble you could solve it with:
L2 U' R' U2 R2 right?
And what about R'U R'U R'U R' isn't that 7?
Or does someone have a better solution?
There are 8 movers.I think 7 is the upper bound because you could bring every edge piece to your cross with one move and you need one move to turn your cross so it is in the right position in relation to the other edges but the first one doesn't need that move. But you have to align the cross right so that will be eight? No because you could always insert not all pieces need that move to align the cross with itself except for when the pieces are all in the same layer(R or L) but then the first piece is already inserted
So that means with the lower bound also being 7 that gods number for cross with EO needs to be 7
Let me know if I'm wrong
But in your case your cross edges are not EOThere are 8 movers.
Ex: F R' F' B' R2 U B R
is it me or does your example not even scramble the cross, just ruins EO.There are 8 movers.
Ex: F R' F' B' R2 U B R
R' B2 L D...Here's one that needs 6 moves: L' R' B2 U' L' D.
Crazy bump but I think he was referring to cross at the bottom because that has a six move optimal solutionR' B2 L D...
Yeah. If anyone is curious I calculated all EOCross scenarios and it is 10 for fixed cross.Crazy bump but I think he was referring to cross at the bottom because that has a six move optimal solution
Do you mean cross + EO?Yeah. If anyone is curious I calculated all EOCross scenarios and it is 10 for fixed cross.
