🇵🇭 Philippines

[Caleb Valenzuela]

Here, Philippine cubing news will be posted here, such as new competition announcements, new delegates, championships, records, and more!
(Originally a thread for looking for Filipinos on the forums)

[BVCuber13]

Why did i make this thread? Because I want to know if any Filipino cubers come to the SS Forums. Kaya kung Filipino cuber ka, reply ka dito! (google translate that if you want)

I'm not entirely Filipino, but my dad is. (Him and his family came over here back in 1990 when he was like 10)

wow! very nice!

My wife is Filipino, from Ormoc, Leyte, not that far from Cebu.

And she cubes! (not that fast, but still, she has a WCA ID)

And my 3 daughters, who are all half Filipino, are also all cubers.

My WCA ID is 2019VILL03, and my dad's is 2023VILL28. I'm organizing a competition at my former middle school in October so my dad can do more events.

(He's originally from Nasugbu, Batangas)

I am changing the purpose of this thread to be similar to the “India” thread. Here will be announcements of new delegates/organizers, competitions, and championships.

no idea lol since i have no way to see any of the bids
i’m guessing only like 2 or 3 (since there are not many places where they can organize a championship aside from cebu, manila, or somewhere in mindanao)

How many active cubing comp cities are there in the Philippines?

Like city having more than 5 comps a year.

5 is a number I have chosen arbitrarily for a measure of activeness

only one city/region and that’s Manila/Luzon. Makati and Cavite are some cities with a lot of competitions.
Last year Makati was where PhilChamps2025 was hosted

Isn't Cebo most active? I think thats where allthe Visayas comps are held. Learnt about them from Leo's old vlogs.
