i get mad when my 4x4 pops. for some reason my 5x5 is faster and smoother than my 4x4 but i don't think that's normal

I can get extremely angry at timer malfunctions. Lockups too, but not as much.

There should always be open communication in cubing. I will always hope for that.
We had open discussions pre-2017,
post-2017 cubing has not been that inclusive and it is hard to bring back the golden vibes of early cubing days.

I remember 3 instances like this, all 3 in competition.
1. Back when I still cared about 2x2 I messed up all but 1 of my solves in the finals while the scramble set was quite decent. I +2ed twice and misonelooked twice iirc.
2. Not winning 3BLD at nats. I wasn't too bummed about it at first because I didn't really expect a win, but when I learnt that the winning solve was a 23, that bugged me quite a bit, because my best solve was a 30 with an 8 second pause.
3. My last official MBLD attempt. I tried 36 cubes (NR was 23 points, PR 23 points as well but slower), so I was certain I would get at least PR, or NR if nobody else beat me in that attempt, and my goal was 33/36. I got 27/36, more DNFs than in any attempt I've ever done, due to a complete blackout at the last 8pack. At the rate it's been going, I get one official attempt per year, so it felt like quite a big deal to fail like that, and it took all my motivation for the event away, because I don't want to spend crazy amounts of time practicing for something if it all comes down to that one attempt that actually matters. I've been slowly regaining motivation though, so who knows, maybe I'll get back to practicing again soon.

So as some of you guys know, I am a clock main.
I went to an competition around 2 months ago, Arnhem Open 2024 A
It had a round of clock, so I registered for the comp.
I was 5th in psych sheet, Andrey Che showed up later, so we did clock without him.
But, a week before the competition I think, Timo Regoor registered, who has NR.
So, I got fourth with a 6.44. If Timo wouldnt show up, I could have gotten 3rd place, aka my first podium.
I hope to podium at my next comp with clock tho, Capelle Cubing 2024.
