I fell in love.
It was on Saturday the 28th, at a competition. I was loving my WRM 2019, despite my ownership of many newer cubes such as the YS3M. I loved the smooth, somewhat crunchy-crisp feeling of those cubes, especially my WRM. But when I was walking around, he caught my eye. Beautiful blue-colored gaze, smooth, frosted exterior, and depth within his personality, he was perfect for me. I gave him a chance, and he spoke to me like no cube spoke before. He could speak softly, but was flexible enough to match my volume if I wanted to. He felt stable, and kind to any roughness I may bring onto him. He was perfect for me.
No, I'm not talking about some beautiful blue-eyed boy, I'm talking about a GAN 12 Leap.
Apparently, the owner of that cube fell out of love with it, and he wanted a soft Tengyun or Tornado, and another who desired the harsh, clacky feel of a YS3M. So I made some trades, getting a Tengyun V3 for my YS3M, and traded that Tengyun V3 for a nearly-new GAN 12 Leap. Knowing that his brother, the Maglev, was a bit too quick for me, I found that I could set up the Leap with a slower, more controllable setup and get good results.
I ended up deciding on a mix of Weight 6, Silk, and Compound X, with a little bit of DNM-37 for extra smoothness, with the blue ring set to 2 and the clear spring set to 2 from the bottom (I found that instead of using the provided adjustment tool, you can use a toothpick like the GAN 13's little metal pin) and set the magnet strength to strongest. And it works like a charm. It has no real popping issues (RRRRRGGGGHHHHH GAN 14 GGHGHGHHGHHHAAAAARRGGHHH) and it has a beautiful balance of speed, controllability, and stability.
As of now, I am split between the GAN 12 Leap, the WRM 2019, and a modded WRM V9 UV that I swapped in WRM 2019 extra springs into (finally, that giant plastic useless box in the WRM 2019's packaging was of use) that I got for trading a Valk 2 with @baseballjello67. Tell me your thoughts!
