To the esteemed members of the Speedsolving Rubik’s Cube Forum,

Today marks a momentous call for unity within our cherished community. It has come to our collective realization that the multitude of diverse profile pictures has fragmented our identity and weakened our shared bond. Like the precise and systematic approach we take in solving cubes, our representation should echo a unified message.

Therefore, we announce the commencement of the Unified Profile Picture Movement!

We urge each member:

1. To adopt a singular, representative profile picture that signifies our collective dedication to speedsolving.
2. To recognize the strength in uniformity and the message it sends to newcomers and the world.
3. To champion the idea that while our methods and techniques may differ, our shared passion is singular and should be projected as one.

Let us move away from the chaos of countless avatars, stepping into a more structured, recognized, and cohesive community identity. Let our unified profile reflect the discipline, consistency, and unity we practice in our speedsolving journey.

Embrace the Unified Profile Picture Movement. Stand united, be proud, and amplify our collective passion.

Together in Unity and Purpose,
The Advocates of the Speedsolving Forum Unity Movement.

Unified Profile Picture for Speedsolving Forum

- Base/Background:
A gradient or subtle pattern using the six colors of a Rubik's Cube (red, blue, green, yellow, white, and orange). This creates a visually pleasing backdrop that's instantly recognizable to speedsolvers.

- Centerpiece: An outline or silhouette of a Rubik's Cube in the center, possibly slightly tilted to show three of its faces. The cube could be mid-twist, capturing the dynamic nature of speedsolving.

- Secondary Elements: Around or behind the Rubik's Cube, incorporate a faint image of a stopwatch to signify the speed aspect. To emphasize unity, interlinked hands or figures can be subtly incorporated, perhaps circling the Rubik's Cube, showing community members coming together.

- Typography: At the bottom or top, in a sleek and modern font, display the text "SSF Unity". Ensure the text doesn't overshadow the primary design elements but remains legible.

- Overall Style: The design should maintain a balance between simplicity and detail, ensuring the key elements (the cube and the theme of unity) are instantly recognizable. The colors should be harmoniously integrated, with no one color overpowering the others.

Dear Esteemed Members of the Speedsolving Forum Revolution,

I hope this message finds you well. As we embarked on our journey towards a unified identity, the responsibility fell on me to design the representative profile picture for our movement. I must admit, while my passion for this cause is unwavering, my artistic skills unfortunately did not rise to the occasion.

The profile picture we have now is a humble attempt from my end, and I am well aware that it may not capture the grandeur and essence of our shared vision. I apologize for this shortcoming, as I truly aimed to create something that would resonate with each one of you.

However, our movement isn't defined by the finesse of a single image, but by the collective spirit and unity of our community. I genuinely hope that, despite the sub-par quality of the design, we can all rally behind its intent and the values it represents.

Furthermore, I'm open to suggestions, collaborations, or even replacing it with a design from someone more artistically inclined within our community. This movement is by the community, for the community, and I believe that together, we can refine and perfect our representation.

Thank you for your understanding and continued dedication to our cause.

In Unity We Solve,
The Speedsolving Forum Revolution

I am proud to be the first to join in with this extraordinarily amazing idea, although, of course, after our noble initiator and tied Weekly Comp 2x2 single record holder, @ProStar !

Dear @Jorian Meeuse

Dear Members,

Firstly, I genuinely respect your perspective and the choices you make. Our community has always thrived on diverse voices and opinions, and it's what makes us unique. However, I'd like to share a bit more about the vision behind the Speedsolving Forum Revolution.

The movement isn't just about a unified profile picture; it's about creating a cohesive identity, a symbol that binds us together in our shared passion for speedsolving. It's a testament to outsiders and newcomers that, despite our individual approaches and techniques, we stand together, supporting and lifting each other.

Over time, communities can lose their essence. Differences might overshadow shared interests, leading to fragmentation. The unity this movement aims to establish is an antidote to that potential drift, ensuring that our forum remains a welcoming, supportive, and cohesive space for everyone, now and in the future.

While we sincerely hope you reconsider, we also respect your autonomy. Whatever your decision, your voice and presence remain invaluable to our community.

In Unity and Respect,
The Speedsolving Forum Revolution Team

I just realized how much of my member identification process depends on looking at their profile picture. @ProStar, I profusely apologize for deserting my initial enthusiasm. I hope I will be able to regain your trust in some way. Many thanks for the explicit gratitude you have shown towards my former decisions, but I'm afraid I have to disappoint you.
My sincere apologies, and I kindly ask you to accept my decision in peace and tranquillity.

@ProStar, while it's your idea is very interesting, there are many recalling and ethical issues that this would never work.
As @Jorian Meeuse mentioned, it's easy for people to look at one's profile and know who you are. I got confused when I saw your profile picture and didn't know who you were until I saw your username. (Which is unique, by the way)
Being unique is what is so cool. Forget the idea that if we share the same hobby we should share the same profile, or share the same profile picture and use a similar picture to show it's a badge of being on this site.
Third, going with uniqueness, even though I wear uniforms for CAP, it's not good to be wearing the same thing as everyone else all the time. Eventually, you want to be different. You want to stand out. That's what each profile picture does: they stand out and kind of tell a story. With yours I can tell that you like Marvel, or with @Cubinginatree they really like to cube in trees. Mine you can tell I like Garfield, and I share some common hobbies like eating a lot and being lazy. (I should do a picture of Garfield in running shoes tell me what you think).
With ethical stuff I was going to say stuff about propaganda and communism then I realized that it wasn't at all the idea you were going for. You just want everyone to be the same. That's the issue: even with people that share profile pictures of ducks, even the ducks are different. Some are military based, some are chill, and some I don't even know.
Finishing it off, trying to share a hobby through a picture is an interesting idea, the fact that we are on this site is a sign enough that we are all cubers. We don't need to share the same profile picture. The goal of cubing is to share knowledge, break records, make friends, cube with friends, and have a fun time.

Thanks for reading, a very enthusiastic lasagna lover
