i have seen these patterns...
the first one looks like the center peices have been changed:
R2 L2 U2 D2 F2 B2

the second is like a checker board:
M down - turn cube left (repaet until complete)

are there any other cool ones?
with algs?

hah! thats nice Rama! I have ended up in that pattern some times fooling arund. and didnt know how to fix.. now I do :) how easy!

I dont know if there are a special alg for it. but I can build this pattern where you look at three faces and you see a line going around a 2x2x2 block with the corner twisted the third way.
and its the same thing on the other side. this is my all time favourite!

btw. there are LOTS and lots of pretty patterns out there.
the fun starts when you move on to 3x3x3+ cubes. this is like 90% why I CAAANT wait for those oplympics to come out

Yeah, that one Rocks! there is a Rubik's cube in my maths class wich has that pattern :D

But for the alg I gave you R2 U2 x3 that is also an algorithm what I use if two F2l-pairs are in the wrong slot but the orientation is correct :D

@ Blade
omg!! thank you so much! my friend is gonna be thrilled when he hears about this :)
how did you get that alg? please tell me you didnt write youself :D

@Rama ah thats a cool trick. you dont get that case that much do ya? hehe

M2 E2 S2

M E M' E'

M2 E M2 E'

M F2 E2 F2 M' S2

R2 B2 R2 L2 B2 L2

Figured those out just by playing with my cube and using intuition. It's interesting when you combine the center paterns with other patterns (sometimes).

No too bad I don't <_<

But try this one:

F (r U r' U' x3) F'

It is the same case but then when they are both flipped, I don't get this one also that often...

Edit:

I mean if two F2L-pairs are done, but the edges are flipped in their slot

I guess I never really learned the difference between commutators and setup moves.

I love all of these F2L "tricks". please post all you got (if you want). they fun to learn and great to have on those occasions when you get them.
