[Unofficial] Yu Nakajima 2x2-7x7 Relay: 9:53.65

Wow, he has Blue opposite White on all the cubes. Its cool that he can do this on a stackmat timer.

Break down was something like
4:25 - 7x7
7:20 - 2:55 - 6x6
8:45 - 1:25 - 5x5
9:35 - 50 - 4x4
9:46 - 11 - 3x3
9:53 - 7 - 2x2

Very approximate.

yea, that about right...shouldnt he do he 2x2 bit first? i mean, i would think that requires the most inspection to get a decent solve....i think he could shave 2 or 3 seconds off 2x2 by doing first..still, veeery well done by him :) also notice that hes not using the black 5x5 anymore? maybe his white one is better for him now :S

-__- so do all the top cubers use this colour combination now? there are several others who dont use White-opposite-Yellow, etc. is there a significant advantage to this?

Think of how many seconds you can save on the 7x7 compared to the 2x2

no....but i find that with big cubes, they dont require too much inspection and are easier to do just on the spot.....with 2x2, the full inspection is useful because u can plan most of the solve out. imo u dont save that much time inspecting 7x7 because there is plenty of other steps while solving 7x7 u can lose time in anyway.

I have to disagree, first of all he could of inspected the 2x2 before starting to solve. You are right that when inspecting 2x2 you can plan out most of the solve. But even if you did do the 2x2 on the spot you would only lose a couple of seconds, whilst if i were to do 7x7 on the spot it would be a bit more confusing because of all the pieces, and i would lose more than a couple of seconds. I guess it's all prefernece, and i would rather do it in order, that is: 2-7 or 7-2 :P

You're both wrong. The correct solution is to 2 7 6 5 4 3: inspect both the 2x2 AND the 7x7 before the solve, and just solve the 2x2 first. So you get all the benefits of inspecting your 7x7 first, without having to deal with a slow 2x2 solve.
