I do freestyle Triple-X cross and Heise ending with insertion. The methods are incomparable because the pieces are sometimes better for one than another.

Combined Petrus (start), Heise (start & middle), Freestyle (ending), premoves (triggered anywhere), insertions (anywere) and LAMLLAAYC(SWS) is best.
I think we should call this the GFRS system (Goljan-Fredlund-Razoux Schultz) ;)

PS. LAMLLAAYC(SWS) = Learn-as-many-LL-algs-as-you-can (start-with-shortest)

I say freestyle everything.

3x3x2 (pseudo)block
random stuff
insert (edge, corners, both, or 1LLL)
correct premove

I love FMC because you do not use a method. You solve because you can.

2x2x2
to 2x2x3
to rest of cross/blockbuild rest of f2l
finish LL however possible, with insertions etc.

i know WHAT to do, its just a shame i am awful at doing any of it...

freestyle 2x2x3: 8-10 moves (sometimes single move insertions to improve finish)

3xcross: 12-15 (sometimes EO to help finish)

leave 3 corners: 24ish (or do OLL/PLL if i can get a skip)

go back and insert.

premoves whenever

I never try to force a finish, i just do as many starts as I possibly can.
