Triplet building is a block-building method used in R3T. Triplet building involves the creation of a 1x2x3 block while preserving the FL and BL edges and edge orientation (EO). It follows similar rules to F2L pair creation, but because of the unsolved R and D layers, this creates more options for block building.

For smooth triplet building, the triplet choice is important. The author recommends choosing to build triplets that have two corners already in view.

Option 1 (Recommended)

Form a pair with a D-layer edge and corner, then a triplet by adding another D-layer corner.

Option 2

Pair two triplet corners in the U- or D-layer, then form a triplet by pairing a triplet edge (e.g., using M2 or M2 U/U'/U2 M2).

Option 3

Orient and position a D-layer corner in the D-layer. Form a pair with a D-layer edge and corner (that shares a colour with the first D-layer corner). Solve the pair into the D-layer (e.g., using r2), forming a triplet.

Possible Algorithm Sets (Incomplete)

- Alg set to solve triplet corners in D-layer

- Alg set to form pairs (similar to F2L algs but using the unsolved R and D layer)

- Alg set to form triplets
