Gigaminx
A Gigaminx is a dodecahedron (shaped as a Megaminx) that is cut like the 5x5x5. The mass production of this puzzle was started in 2009 by Cube4you, Shengshou and MF8 also released a version.
The gigaminx hardware remained relatively stagnant for a long time, however, in 2022 and 2023, various companies began producing stickerless versions of the puzzle with more modern hardware and design. Initially YuXin released a stickerless gigaminx which far outperformed previous gigaminxes, however, in 2023 DianSheng released the first magnetic gigaminx which is now far more highly regarded among speedcubers, shortly afterwards, ShengShou improved their gigaminx design and made it stickerless and available for a much lower price than all the other gigaminxes on the market, the ShengShou gigaminx does not perform as well as the YuXin or DianSheng but is exciting as it has made far more people give the puzzle a go.
The puzzle can be solved very similarly to the 5x5x5 by solving the centres first and then the edges and then finishing it off like a megaminx, however, many people prefer to mix this up a bit and actually solve the edges and megaminx stage while solving the centres.
