Eduardo Valdivia Chacón

Eduardo Valdivia Chacón was a Peruvian speedcuber. In 1982 he finished eleventh in the World Championship.
In 1982 he was a 21-year-old student from Lima with a personal best time with the Rubik's Cube of 26.80 seconds. At the first World Rubik's Cube Championship 1982 in Budapest (5 June) he finished in eleventh place with a best time (in round 2) of 29.62 seconds. David Singmaster reports that he used a Corners first method. He was the only competitor at the tournament from South America.[1]
On November 18 2012 the Aniversario Eduardo Valdivia 2012 tournament took place in the Los Olivos district of Lima. The tournament took place to commemorate "the participation of our compatriot Eduardo Valdivia Chacón in the first World Championship (1982) and the establishment of the first SAR [South American Record] in his charge."[2] As guest of honour he took part in the 3x3 competition achieving a best time of 50.64 seconds.[3]
