4elt

4elt, or 4x4 & belt, is an experimental speed solving method for 4x4. Instead of reducing a 4x4 into a 3x3, this method directly reduces the cube into a 4x4x3 cuboid, and then into a 3x3x2 cuboid.
Steps
1. 2 opposite centers
2. Solve the belt edges
2.5. Pair up 2 edges using the M slice and place them on DL & DR
3. Solve the centers (same as in the Meyer method)
4. Orient the edges
5. Orient the corners
6. Edge pairing
7. Solve like a 3x3x2
Pros
- Low algorithm count
Cons
- Bad lookahead because you have to look at the D face while solving
