UWR

UWR is an abbreviation for Unofficial World Record. It is used to designate the best result in an unofficial (non-WCA) event and also to designate the best result in an official (WCA) event that has been made out of a WCA competition. It is used to mean the best result in an event, including results outside of a WCA competition.

Before World Championship 2003 and the formation of the WCA, speedcubing.com's unofficial world record lists were considered the most important record list. Several unofficial record lists are still maintained for non-official events held at official competitions.
