Sweden
Swedish speedcubing.
Sweden is a country in Scandinavia, in Europe. Swedish cubers have held WCA world records in 10 events.
People
Swedish cubers are older on average compared to the rest of the world, at least 1:10 of the Swedes that have competed are 40 years or older. Of course, most Swedish cubers are youngsters, just like in the rest of the world.
Most notable Swedes in speedcubing:
- Lars Petrus ... A living legend.
- Gunnar Krig ... Cubing skills, several world records.
- Simon Westlund ... Cubing skills.
- Anders Larsson ... WCA delegate, 'Most countries' record holder (22 in August 2010).
- Kenneth Gustavsson ... Method developing, community activity.
- Rune Wesström ... Probably the only person in the world aged 80 or more that can solve a cube in less than 60 seconds (almost sub 40 even).

SveKub, the Swedish community
Sweden had, since 2004, an 'official' organisation named SveKub, short for Svenska kubföreningen (Swedish cube association) that first was a registered association but now is just a network of Swedish cubers. SveKub has a website with a forum, and there is where competitions in Sweden are discussed and organised by the members of the network, besides the usual cubing forum activities, like helping new cubers, posting algs, trading cubes and such.
There is also a mostly Swedish speaking IRC channel named #rubik at the Quake-net, also a place for discussions within the community.
