Jari Sandqvist
|
Jari Sandqvist was a Finnish speedcuber. In 1981 he won the Finnish Cubing Championship, and finished fifteenth in the 1982 World Championship.
In 1982 Sandqvist was a 21-year-old advertising representative from Helsinki. He had won the Finnish National Championship in 1981. The World Rubik's Cube Championship 1982 took place on June 5. Sandqvist finished in 15th place with a best time of 31.17 seconds in the first round. His second round attempt was disqualified since his cube was broken twice in the same attempt, which violated competition rules. David Singmaster reports that Sandqvist used a Corners first technique.[1]
Although he ceased speedcubing he was still active in the Finnish cubing community in the 2000s, attending cube meetings and competitions as a guest.[2][3]
