7733 is an experimental method for solving the 3x3x3 cube, invented by Tarun in 2025. This method has no known variants and is considered inefficient, which is why it's classified as an experimental method rather than one intended for speedsolving.
Steps
1. Solve a 2x2x3 Block
This is usually done by building a Roux-style first block and solving DF and DB. This step is entirely intuitive.
2. Solve the Remaining Edges
Solve all the remaining edges, leaving six unsolved corners. This involves completing the belt, placing the last cross edge, and then solving the final four top-layer edges.
3. Solve 3 Yellow Corners
This step is intuitive and involves solving any three of the six remaining yellow corners using a simple algorithm.
4. Solve the Last 3 Corners
Use commutators to solve the remaining three corners. This step is also intuitive and is similar in spirit to the final step in some corner-focused methods.
Advantages and Disadvantages Compared to Other Experimental Methods
Pros:
- Very unique and different — more of a piece-by-piece approach.
- Encourages understanding of cube mechanics through intuition.
Cons:
- inefficient compared to other experimental methods.
- Not suitable for speedsolving due to high move count and lack of optimization.
