2-Sided ELL Recognition
From Speedsolving.com Wiki
2-Sided ELL Recognition is the task of recognizing a ELL from only two adjacent sides (e.g. F and U). This allows a cuber to determine what moves to do as soon as they reach ELL, without extra AUF turns or cube rotations. This way of recognition is also called TibE recognition and was made by Kristopher Tibbetts in 2024.
How to do 2-sides ELL recognition
- For 2-flips there are 2-3 visible edges and 2 visible corners. But for 2-sided recognition we only need 2 edges and 1 corner. Specifically the FUR sticker of a corner and the side stickers of the 2 flipped edges. These side stickers can be seen from the U face as they are flipped. This is similar to Tv2 in a way. You look at the reference sticker (FUR) and find the 2 flipped edge stickers on the top layer and compare it to the corner. Like for example this edge is on left in comparison to this FUR sticker.
