    Belleview Open 2009 (unofficial)

I will be hosting a competition at Belleview High School in Florida (it is approximately 40 miles south of Gainesville, FL) sometime within the next 3 months. I have not gotten the competition approved by the WCA board yet as I am looking to see how many people plan to attend. I'm looking at...

    Square-1 +2 penalty

What constitutes a +2 penalty on a Square-1? Is it the same as 2x2-7x7, 45+ degrees offset? I had a solve where the top and bottom layers needed to be switched. Is that a +2?

    I'm taking the SAT tomorrow

I'm taking the SAT tomorrow. I am quite nervous about it. Can anyone with experience give me some tips about it or some general stories? I'm hoping it will make me less nervous :)

    Haunted Rubik's Cube!

Do you think it will ever get to the point where we have to rely on the supernatural to get any faster. Sub-9 average anyone? Maybe this will help. I think it was kind of funny. Scroll down and there's also a video...

    4x4 OLL Parity

Does anyone know of an algorithm that flips 3 edges on a 4x4 (instead of flipping one edge)? I would like to do this in order to speed up my OLL and just do COLL instead of a really slow OLL.

    Rubik's Cube Science Fair Project

I am going to do a science project for Pre-AICE Coordinated Science (not that the name of the course matters). I would like to incorporate the cube into it. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Long Cycles

I need some help. When I am BLD solving I can do CO, EO, and CP. But, I am not able to do EP. The cycles are just too long. Example (From Macky's Site): (1 7 9 12 11 4 5 8). How am I to manage these? What should I do? This is the only part I am having trouble with. Thanks for any help in...

    Cross

I am going crazy... I can do F2L in about 8-10 seconds, OLL in 4-6 seconds, and PLL in about 2-6 seconds. But, my cross time is from 5-15 seconds (most of the time it is like 10-15 seconds). What can I do to decrease my cross time. I already use my 15 seconds of inspection time efficiently...

    U perm

    I currently use this: R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2 for U PERM a. I've seen a lot of videos that use this: R2 U' R' U' R U R U R U' R for the same U PERM a. Which one is faster and what would be the advantage of using the second one over the first one? Also, whould it be wise to switch? Thanks.

    F2L slot order

Should I go clockwise, counter clockwise, or whatever corner I see first when filling in my F2L slots. Right now I just do any slot and get around 25-30. Does it really matter?

    Ebay cubes

Has anyone bought cubes fromHuskyomega? I bought the 2x2,4x4,5x5 cubes from him. It's been like 11 days and I've not yet recieved them. They say that they are "eastsheen" cubes. They seemed like an awesome price so I took the risk. What do you people think?

    What to memorize first?

Over the course of about 3 weeks I learned all 21 PLL's and now I want to move on to something else. I can do F2L intuitively (the whole cube) in about 29-35 seconds. Should I start memorizing F2L algorithms or learn the OLL's (I already know about 25-30 of them.) Thanks, Chris
