    Introducing Twizzle (alpha)

This always bugged me with Twizzle. Twizzle Alpha - Throwing puzzles off the screen bug (Firefox 91.0.1 on Windows 10)

    Disqualified/failed world records

This is a hysterical video (meme) made about a faked 3x3x3 WR single from several years ago.

Follow the world's first Twisty Puzzle chess set project

Sounds like something James Cameron would say . . . waiting for (or letting enough time to pass to accumulate enough financing to research and produce) technology that's advanced enough to bring his 20 something year old screenplays to life!

Legendary Things That Happened on This Website Thread

That's what this thread is for https://www.speedsolving.com/threads/best-most-useful-threads-on-speedsolving-com.70376/ . Feel free to add to the list. Also, it's true that if you have been around for a while, you forget some of the contributions you have made. The link in my signature goes...

Idea to fix the cubing notation

This is my second double post in this thread (and I rarely ever double post!), but I just thought of something that I should have mentioned much earlier. For those who like to write algorithms with M in the direction of R and E in the direction of U, you can do that on your own alg sheets. You...

    [Help Thread] Big Cubes Discussion

Yeah, I remember. (I was going to mention this annoyance in the other thread, but yeah, too off-topic.) I was not a happy camper. And I don't agree with it either, despite that I reasoned a mnemonic for explaining why Lucas did this.

Idea to fix the cubing notation

Using the same letter to represent something different is not what I consider a new word. You're making an existing word an antonym to itself. (M = M', E = E'.) Very chaotic. I'm sure it has been. I didn't say it's pointless. Just more trouble that it was worth (for the 4x4x4 and 5x5x5)...

Idea to fix the cubing notation

Here's an analogy which pretty much sums up this thread: I think everyone should adapt to what I think the English language should be! For example, there are so many words that are not pronounced they way they are spelled. It can be improved. And a lot of people agree with me. (Especially...

Idea to fix the cubing notation

Wow, what an arrogant thing to say. If they don't like your version (which opposes a version that has been around probably longer than you have been alive), they're lazy. But I digress . . . So I was talking about what the majority of people do who use notation. They exchange algorithms...

Idea to fix the cubing notation

If they are to understand what the prefix denoting the notation means, you're most certainly forcing them to become bilingual. Because if they don't know what that prefix means, they're going to execute the algorithm in the current notation and accuse you of posting an incorrect algorithm...

Idea to fix the cubing notation

Due to the nature of the purpose of what notation serves, you technically are . . . that is, if everyone doesn't write an algorithm twice. Once in your version, once in the current version. (Where you provide links to animations like this in footnotes to describe what you're talking about.)...

Idea to fix the cubing notation

The convention could go either way. It just depends on who you talk to. So I don't think it's a good idea to change it, despite that if it this would have been the convention from the beginning, I personally would have found it to be better. Compare L M to y L M y' and z L M z'. That's why...

    The "Request an Alg" Thread

I looked, but I couldn't find anything. But you can contact @bcube . (https://hlavolam.maweb.eu/ is his website) It's a shame that the site wasn't backed up at least once on web.archive!

The connections between cubing and speedrunning

But if you're trying to break a really fast speedrun record, if you can subdivide the run into sections (identify the timestamps for you to arrive at the first fourth of the distance, 2nd fourth, etc.), then it may be useful for you to know (on average) how much time passes for you to pass that...

    Introducing Twizzle (alpha)

Why don't you record some videos and make a course on Udemy so that you can get the satisfaction of teaching and make some cash on the side (and help a lot more people than you can from one-on-one).

Speedcubedb Shutting Down (It's Back Up and Running)

If they don't want to make money, they still may want to be the first to release an improvement to their work. It's their right to keep control of the history (the sequence of events of the impact it made, its improvements and advances, etc.) of their own project. They may release the entire...

    Speedcubing Jokes Here!!

I don't know when I uploaded this to the web (or what the context was), but for those who have had exposure to limits in math might be able to start making some math cubing jokes doing stuff like this: and therefore,

    4x4 rU combinations

I also forgot to mention it, but also take a look at this thread (just for seeing some more algorithms). Specifically in this post, @cuBerBruce lists move optimal <U, r > algorithms for different 3-cycle of wing cases in the last layer. I am not sure why your method uses algorithms strictly in...

    4x4 rU combinations

To get you started, God's number is 28. Also see @Ben Whitmore website page on it. As Ben said, there are 274337280000 total configurations (on the regular 6 colored 4x4x4). There are 10 wing edges, 10 X centers, and 4 corners in reach of <U,r>. 10!*10!*4. But there are four X center color...
