As it happens MaeLSTRoM was telling me the reason you guys don't have a help link after I made the suggestion that you guys might create one. Just in case, I though I would point out this discussion I had with him and see if you agree with his views. I'm assuming you would be the guy that would create it. --Dave3457 (talk) 17:57, 29 November 2012 (EST)

Revision as of 03:08, 30 November 2012

For some reason the images does not load anymore. I tried to restart and two diffrent browsers but the same... // Kenneth 08:25, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

I somehow suspected it was something you did :)

Vandalism continues

Hi Pat, I have deleted a bunch of the bot users now as you can see here Special:Log/delete. It seems it is around 1-2 a day and they keep comming and it looks like all are from the same source. // Kenneth 23:47, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Re: I noticed Kenneth. I am going to install a captcha soon. I literally just finished upgrading the wiki, and I was waiting to install the captcha until after the upgrade. Thanks for keeping an eye out and deleting it as it comes. Cheers.

Edit: I installed recaptcha for new registrations. --PJK 00:12, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Nice, then we will hopefully not get anymore of those =) Kenneth 10:08, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Edit; "Your edit includes new external links. To help protect against automated spam, please type the two words you see in the box below:"
I got the captcha when I was editing a page because it had external links, I don't think that option is needed, it will only become annoying if you do several edits. Is it possible to remove that part? // Kenneth 11:59, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Ah, I see. Okay, I have disabled that for logged in users. I have also enabled anonymous editing, meaning users don't need to be logged in to edit. However, if they post a link, they will have to go through the recaptcha. Does that sound good, or do you have a better suggestion? --PJK 18:23, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Na, it's great, just didn't like to have to mess with it every time you add a link, it is in the algs template, say you add algs using that to all CxLL pages = 42 of them... you can figure the rest =) // Kenneth 20:28, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I understand. Alright, sounds good, let me know if you notice any errors or anything missing that may have been lost during the upgrade.--PJK 20:33, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

GIF doesn't work if you use the Thumb setting

Here MaeLSTRoM told me that you sometimes handle Wiki issues, and that I should tell you the following.

I've just created a GIF for the commutator page and discovered that you don't get a working GIF if you use the Thumb setting to display it. I've double checked and Wikipedia doesn't have this issue. I've personally overcome the problem by changing the resolution of the GIF but of course this is more of a stop gap measure. Below is my GIF using the thumb feature. I suspect this is more an issue for those creating the Wiki software to deal with, but I don't know. Thanks for your time. Dave3457 (talk) 17:23, 29 November 2012 (EST)

Creation of a Help link

(This is the same guy as above writing)
As it happens MaeLSTRoM was telling me the reason you guys don't have a help link after I made the suggestion that you guys might create one. The link you posted doesn't work for me. What exactly is a help link? --PJK (talk) 22:08, 29 November 2012 (EST)
