Introduction

CFVF(OP)2 Is a speedsolving method for the Megaminx with 8 distinct steps. These are:

C - Cross (or in this case star) - the 5 first layer edges are placed in their correct positions on the first layer
F - F2L - This is when the corners of the first layer and the edges of the second layer are filled in. This step can be completed in the same way as Fridrich F2L
V - The V section is the 2 edges and the corner underneath the upper hemisphere centres.
F - F2L (Again) - The Remaining Upper hemisphere edges and corners (Not Last Layer) are filled in. This can also be done in the same way as Fridrich F2L
(OP)2 - The last layer. This is completed in the following order; OE, PE, OC, PC (Or edges first, corners second).

Cross

The Cross (or star as it will now be called) is probably the easiest part of this method. It consists of placing the 5 first layer edges in their correct position on the layer that you will be starting with.

Tips

The Star could possibly be planned in inspection but I use a different method.

What I do is during inspection, I hold the megaminx upside-down (my first layer on the bottom) and see if there are any edge pieces in the upper "Hemisphere". THese ar ethen moved into the bottom 2 layers as my first few moves before I solve the star.
