Twisttheweb is a comptitive English Web-Based-Timer website created by Luis Javier Iáñez Pareja. The function of the website is to allow competitive timed cubing in an online environment. Anonomous usage is not currently possible (As of 18-1-13), as an account is required. Requirements for creating an account include username, password, and valid email for registration. Optional account information includes gender, date of birth, country of residence and/or origin, WCA ID, and a link to a youtube video, which is suggested to be a video of the registrant while cubing. As date of birth if optional information, there is no age limit.

Competitive

As a competitive web based timer, the Twisttheweb allows for the creation of "games" into which others may enter, depending on the settings chosen. A game can be started with only one person, and used as a personal timer, though such a use is not as efficient as Web-Based-Timers designed for individual use. While in competition, a user has the option to leave, and the option to "kibitz." Kibitzing is essentially an "Away from keyboard" or "Not competing" option. A user that is "kibitzing" can re-enter the game by selecting "Play."

Created "Games" can have several settings:

1. Category Allows the user the choose which type of puzzle the game will focus on. Available options are: 2x2x2 through 7x7x7, 3x3x3 OH, 3x3x3 BLD, 4x4x4 BLD, Pyraminx, Megaminx, Square-1, and Clock.

2. Invitation Allows user to set privacy settings. Invitation can be public or private. Private games require a user-set password for entry.

3. Requisites Allows user to set suggested speed capabilities of those who join. The requisite can be set to: All times, Sub 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60.

4. Introduction A user may set a message as a description of the game, to promote inviting users to join.

Social

Twisttheweb has a social aspect to it. In addition to allowing competitive cubing online, twisttheweb offers an in-game chat option, as well as the ability to add other cubers as your "friend."
