Talk:HKCLL
Not needed
Do we seriously need ANOTHER CxLL set? We have CLL, COLL, CMLL, CMSLL, CLLEF, and 2x2 CLL(which can be used for 3x3 for CF). I feel like we should have a CxLL page with types of CxLLs listed. COLL, CMLL, CLL, and 2x2 CLL are popular enough to have their own pages imo, but I think anything like CMSLL or HKCLL should be listed under the CxLL page - ProStar (talk) 03:16, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
- I agree, all smaller CxLL subsets (if not even all of them) should be listed in one article so that the wiki gets less confusing and cluttered. - RedstoneTim (talk) 15:24, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
- I've added a Subsets section to the CxLL page listing all subsets followed by a brief description of what makes it unique. I think CLL, COLL, CMLL, and 2x2 CLL are popular enough to deserve their own page, but all others should be represented on the CxLL page only - ProStar (talk) 16:56, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
- Alright, then this page should just redirect to CxLL#Subsets if everyone is okay with that. - RedstoneTim (talk) 13:06, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
Name and proposer change
Since HKCLL is a CxLL subset, I think that it should be renamed to CDFLL to fit the convention of putting the part of the cube that is not being preserved between "C" and "LL". HKCLL should only be kept as an alternative name since CDFLL is a more intuitive for most people and also makes sense for methods like Russo.
I'd also like to note that CLL ignoring the DF edge is not really a new concept. As mentioned before, it has already been proposed in the Russo method and probably before that as well. Therefore, I think that the proposer should just be changed to unknown. - RedstoneTim (talk) 15:32, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
