Table abuse

In one-handed speedsolving, table abuse is the technique of frequently using the table to get unstuck or to more easily execute a move. Roux OH solvers are especially known for their table abuse for M-slice turns and have turned it into a veritable style.

The term was originally negative. Indeed, the legality of table abuse was a common question for several years and still is, although it has never appeared in the WCA regulations.

Angles

Many people ask what angle to place the cube on the table. Most Roux solvers press on the DR edges at a 45 degree angle onto the table.

Another way to do it is to lean on the FR edge at a 45 degree angle. An example of someone who uses this is Alex Lau, as seen in the video linked below.
