Sum of Ranks

Sum of ranks is the sum of the ranks in all events of a speedcuber. For example, if a speedcuber ranks no.1 in 3X3 in the world on the basis of average and no. 5 in 2X2 in the world on the basis of average, his sum of ranks in the 2 events is 6. The lesser the sum of ranks, the better it is. There are two types of sum of ranks-sum of single ranks and sum ranks and average sum of ranks. Normally when people talk about sum of ranks they talk about sum of ranks based on the whole world but there are also sum of ranks based on continents or countries.

Sum of single ranks

Sum of single rank is determined by the rank that the people stands in each event in the singles on the world basis and then calculating the sum of the ranks of each event. Martin Vædele Egdal is the best in terms of the sum of single ranks, having a 694 sum of single ranks as of October 2020.

Sum of average ranks

Sum of average ranks is determined by the rank that the people stands in each event in the averages on the world basis and then calculating the sum of the ranks of each event. Martin Vædele Egdal is also the best in terms of the sum of average ranks, having a 545 sum of ranks as of October 2020.

Sum of ranks on the basis of countries or continents

Sum of ranks on the basis of countries or continents is determined by the rank that the people stands on the national or continental basis. For example, if a person is no.1 and no.5 in the national basis on the 3X3 and the 2X2 respectively, then his national sum of ranks in these two events is 6.
