Phil Yu (also known as a small kitten or variations thereof) is an Asian-American speedcuber from Plainsboro, New Jersey. Since 2010, he has been among the fastest one-handed cubers in the world, and the fastest to use the ZZ method (together with the VH system). Although he has posted several record-shattering home Ao5 videos at several points in the OH WR progression, he has never set an official world record. He set the average North American Record of 13.46 at Saint Joseph's College Summer 2012.
Phil is currently a first year student at Georgetown Law in the class of 2015. In 2011, he and fellow NYU student cuber James Chang opened an online cube store, The Cubicle.
Trivia
- a small kitten has small hands, with the right hand being a centimeter smaller than the left.
- He is one of the few cubers to have two-handed rather than one-handed amnesia.
