Progression
Marcell started cubing in the summer of 2006 and soon found the Hungarian cubing community through its website and forum. He focused on blindfold cubing after winning 3BLD at Hungarian Open 2008, his first official competition for the event. After his first NR with 7/7 MBLD at Hungarian Open 2009, Marcell's next national-level achievement was at Euro 2010 in Budapest, where he came in third in 4BLD with an NR and second in 3BLD. The subsequent practice led to his first world-level successes: at Czech Open 2011, recovering his MBLD NR with 11/12 and setting his first 3BLD NR and 4BLD ER, then improving 3BLD to ER at Hungarian Open 2011. The 19/19 MBLD win at World Championship 2011 was his first WR. In early 2012 Marcell set the 3BLD WR of 28.80, and then improved on it a few months later with a time of 26.65 at the Zune Open 2012. At the same event, he set the 5BLD WR of 6:44.77.
