Kevin Hays is an American speedcuber born in Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, Canada. Several months later, his friend David Adams would be born in the same hospital. After their families moved together to Seattle, Washington at the tender age of 5, they began the adventure of a lifetime. These two friends always had a keen interest in puzzles, but the Rubik's cube did not interest Hays until his 7th grade year at Maywood Middle School. Adams sprang the challenge of solving the cube on Hays and he quickly was able to conquer it with the help of online solutions. Hays quickly became faster at solving the Rubik's cube and was able to claim an extremely lucky record of about 26 seconds or something, I don't really remember.

Kevin Hays is an American speedcuber born in White Rock, Canada, and currently residing in Seattle, USA. He specializes in big cubes and has, since 2010, been one of the top 5x5x5, 6x6x6 and 7x7x7 solvers in the world. Kevin has held 15 world records in big cubes, as well as numerous continental records. Kevin is widely considered to be the most successful 6x6 solver in the history of the event, amassing a total of 12 world records over five years. Kevin's biggest accomplishment is being the only person to complete the "big cube sweep" at a world championship, winning the 5x5, 6x6, and 7x7 events in 2013.

His interest in cubing waned and he did not begin to competitively solve until his good friend David invited him on a church retreat to Whistler. Whilst on the trip, our intrepid heroes met Kyle Stevens, who taught the duo how to solve F2L. What began in Canada 15 years earlier began once more as the boys practiced this advanced technique.
