JJLS, short for Jack Johnston Last Slot, is an OLS pair of substeps proposed on 5 September 2013 in which the first half involves solving the last layer's EO and the last F2L slot's corner simultaneously, and the second half involves solving the last layer's CO and the last F2L slot's edge simultaneously.

BLE

BLE, created by Anthony Brooks, is the same as the CO + F2L Edge step of JJLS, but Brooks was unaware of JJLS's existence until he was contacted by Jack Johnston saying that he and Michael Gottlieb had already created a similar concept. Since BLE was created for a different purpose as JJLS and Brooks spent more time and effort into generating good algorithms, Johnston allowed Brooks to keep the name as BLE unless used in the case of using both steps of JJLS.
