Getting lucky is not a crime (variations: luck is not crime) is a phrase popularized by Erik Akkersdijk to express the inherent role that chance plays in cubing.

Erik placed the phrase in his signature on the Speedsolving Forums after his 7.08 3x3 speedsolve world record single with a PLL skip. It has since seen several variations throughout the forum, from discussions to other users' signatures.
