Dayan 2: GuHong

The GuHong Cube is a Chinese cube designed by Daqing Bao (包大庆), who is also the designer of Crazy 4x4x4 series. The name DaYan is the pinyin of his username 大烟头(Da Yan Tou) on MF8 and the logo is a Chinese character "头"(Tou). .

The edges have an unusual shape and split apart in two pieces, similar to one of the V-Cube 6 internal pieces. The corners have stalks and split into thirds and have two little Y-shaped parts that go into holes that are in the corners to attach the thirds. The centers are bigger and different from a normal DIY. It is noted that one of the sides of the core are smaller than the rest, so it is recommended that you either use a different core or force the screw into the hole. When you take off a layer of the cube, you will see that the inner circumference of empty space is smaller that usual.

The cube is extremely fast and smooth. It is also quiet as well. Many people have said that the cube is uncontrollable and a bit prone to popping. Like the Dayan II, it can cut corners at 45 degrees. The GuHong can also reverse corner cut, which is useful if you overshoot a bit. It is recommended to set the tensions to tight, as it may pop.

Dayan + MF8 4x4

Dayan collaborated with MF8, another Chinese company, to produce a 4x4x4 Cube. It is considered one of the best 4x4's, and Feliks Zemdegs used it to break the average world record at WC 2011. However, without modding, the edges can often pop out if you try to corner cut too much.
