A cuber is anyone who enjoys playing with the Rubik's Cube, or more generally any twisty puzzle. Nowadays the majority of cubers are also speedcubers, meaning they care about solving puzzles as fast as possible, but there are still very many people who are interested in Puzzle theory, collecting, programming simulators, or building cube modifications.
A short list of notable cubers who are not speedcubers is:
- Per Kristen Fredlund, Fewest Moves master and pioneer of direct solving methods for big cubes
- Ryan Heise, inventor of the Heise Method
- David Singmaster, author of Notes on Rubik's Magic Cube, a famous Puzzle theory book
- Piotr Grochowski, also having a sock and a sock2
