A competition refers to a contest, tournament, match, or event in which speedsolvers compete against each other in one or more events. Generally, this refers to an official competition organized under the World Cube Association (WCA).

However, if otherwise specified, it can refer to an unofficial competition organized online (via forums, social media, etc.), by an organization other than the WCA (such as You CAN Do the Rubik's Cube or the now inactive Chinese Cube Association), privately between competitors in person, etc.
