Chris Hardwick is an American speedcuber from Morrisville, North Carolina. He became well-known as the world's fastest OH cuber in 2003-4, and is now best known for his long-held world records and continuing world-class times in blindsolving the 4x4 and 5x5. Chris was the first person in the world to complete a blindfold solve on the 6x6.

Chris been a co-host of Speedcubing.com since 2002. He created the Yahoo! Speed Solving Rubik's Cube Group in July, 2000.

Media Appearances

Hardwick has made a number of television appearances demonstrating the Rubik's Cube, including MTV in 2002, Canada AM and Much Music in the fall of 2003, discussing the World Rubik's Games Championship 2003, his first competition. His home videos have also appeared on numerous online video sites including CollegeHumor and Digg, and a video of Hardwick doing a one-handed solve appeared on VH1 in 2006 for Web Junk 20. Axe deodorant parodied another one of Hardwick's home videos in their 2006 South African "Get a Girlfriend" commercial campaign.

Official Results

Chris's personal best official times for the 3x3 are 12.19 seconds for the single solve and 14.35 seconds for an average of 5. In the past, Chris has set North American records in 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5 speedsolve. He has also set the WR for 4x4 three times, twice for single and once for average. In fact, Chris was the first person to ever achieve a 4x4 single solve of under one minute in competition! Chris also set some of the first few world records for one-handed solving.

As for blindfolded events, Chris has broken the world record for 4x4 BLD three times, and the world record for 5x5 BLD six times however he no longer holds these titles.

By winning national and world championships, Chris has held the following titles: World Champion for OH (2003-05), 4x4 BLD (2007-2009) and National Champion for 4x4 (2004-2006), 5x5 (2004-2006), 4x4 BLD (2006-2009 & 2010-2011), 5x5 BLD (2006-2008), Fewest Moves (2008-2009).
