Brian Loftus
|
Brian Loftus is an American speedcuber specializing in 3x3 OH. Between 2008 and 2009, he was considered one of the best OH solvers in the world, coming second to Ryan Patricio at US Nationals 2008 and setting the North American average record of 19.33 at Chattahoochee Spring 2009.
Progression
Brian began speedcubing in 2007, in his senior year of high school. In the first few month, he realized his interest in OH and from then on rarely practiced 2H. Although he unofficially peaked at low-15 averages in 2009, he was not able to improve on his NAR of 19.33 at the few competitions he attended.
Style
Brian was among the first Westerners to use the Japanese OH turning style, which he learned from Japanese cubers' videos. Jeremy Fleischman switched to this style after meeting Brian.
Brian uses his left hand for OH.
