4x4x4 Cube

The 4x4x4 Cube (also known as Rubik's Revenge, and normally referred to as the 4x4x4 or 4x4) is a twisty puzzle in the shape of a cube that is cut three times along each of three axes.
The 4x4x4 Cube was invented by Péter Sebestény in 1981 and sold under the name "Rubik's Revenge". In 1999 Chen Sen Li patented his East Sheen 4x4x4 cube. Mefferts produced a version which was a copy of the old Rubik's mechanism. Since c. 2010 other brands have appeared beginning with the Shengshou, the Dayan, and the MF8 cubes.
The 4x4x4 Cube has no fixed centers, but a total of 24 center pieces, a total of 24 edge pieces, and 8 corners. It has 7.4 x 1045 positions.
