4x4x4 Blindfolded

4x4x4 Blindfolded (4BLD for short) is an official WCA event requiring one to inspect a 4x4x4 Cube and once the cube is fully memorized, solve it with a blindfold covering their eyes. The final time includes the time it takes to inspect and to solve added together. The solver may not have any view of the cube during the solving stage. In order to ensure that the solver is unable to see the cube during the solving phase, the judge typically places a sheet of paper between the solver's blindfold and the cube.
History
- During the 2023 World Championships, Stanley Chapel won with a single of 1:11.51. Tommy Cherry got second with a single of 1:20.34, and Daniel Wallin got third with a 1:33.63 single.
The top 4BLD solvers today are Stanley Chapel, Hill Pong Yong Feng, and Kaijun Lin.
Current WCA Records
- Stanley Chapel currently holds the 4BLD single world record with a time of 51.96. Hill Pong Yong Feng has the second fastest 4BLD single of 1:01.01, which was his overall PB at the time.
- The 4BLD mean world record is currently held by Stanley Chapel with a mean of 1:06.46.
