Purpose(s):

4BOP is a method to use the Hall-2 method on 4x4.

Steps

1. U/D centers

2. Solve 2 adjacent cross edges like in Yau

3. Solve the 2 centers that match up with cross edges, this is done with Yau techniques

4. Using Hoya techniques pair up the edge that would go in the e-slice above the 2 cross edges and in between the 2 solved e-slice centers, then pair it up with its corner and solve it into a 333 block

5. Using Hoya techniques pair up a cross edge and a e-slice edge(the e-slice edge must have a color from the 333 block) that have a matching e-slice color

6. Solve the last 2 centers while preserving the 2 edges you just paired up

7. Using the last 2 edges you paired up in step 5, expand it to a 334 block

8. Pair up the remaining edges

9. Solve the dFL f2l pair and FR edge

10. Perform OLTP(335 algorithms to orient the last 10 pieces) also perform parity if needed

11. Perform PLTP(453 algorithms to Permute the last 10 pieces) also perform parity if needed

Pros

Easy to get used to as it uses techniques from well known methods

Easy 3x3 Stage

Can be rotationless

Cons

High algorithm count

Many rotations if doing it normally
