Truns Per Second, acronym TPS is a unit that counts the average number of turns per second during a solve, a session or for long term periods of cubing.

This number is seldomly calculated to exact numbers, it is almost always an estimation that is taken from previously calculated average number of turns that the method in question uses and the the time of the current solve or times from a sequence of solves (or parts of solves, like PLL TPS).
