Chris Hardwick is an American professional badass. He became well-known as the world's fastest OH cuber in 2003-4, and is now primarily well known for his long-held world records and continuing world-class times in blindsolving the 4x4 and 5x5. He is also adept at many other speedcubing events. Chris is also known as the first person in the world to complete a blindfold solve on the 6x6.

Media Appearances
Hardwick has made a number of television appearances demonstrating the Rubik's Cube, including MTV in 2002, Canada AM and Much Music in the fall of 2003, discussing the World Rubik's Games Championship 2003, his first competition. His home videos have also appeared on numerous online video sites including CollegeHumor and Digg, and a video of Hardwick doing a one-handed solve appeared on VH1 in 2006 for Web Junk 20. Axe deodorant parodied another one of Hardwick's home videos in their 2006 South African "Get a Girlfriend" commercial campaign.

Chris's personal best official times for the 3x3 are 12.59 seconds for the single solve and 14.35 seconds for an average of 5. In the past, Chris has set North American records in 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5 speedsolve. He has also set the WR for 4x4 three times, twice for single and once for average. In fact, Chris was the first person to ever achieve a 4x4 single solve of under one minute in competition! Chris also set some of the first few world records for one-handed solving.

As for blindfolded events, Chris has broken the world record for 4x4 BLD three times, and the world record for 5x5 BLD six times. He still holds both of these records, and in fact has come in first place in these events in every competition where he achieved a successful solve.

By winning national and world championships, Chris has held the following titles: World Champion for OH (2003-05) and National Champion for 4x4 (2004-2006), 5x5 (2004-2006), 4x4 BLD (2006-2008), 5x5 BLD (2006-2008), Fewest Moves (2008-present). He is also the current World Champion for 4x4 BLD (since 2007).

Turns Per Second, acronym TPS, is a unit that counts the average number of turns per second during a solve, a session or for long term periods of cubing.

This number is seldomly calculated to exact figures, it is almost always an estimation that is taken from previously calculated average number of turns that the method in question uses and the the time of the current solve or times from a sequence of solves (or parts of solves, like TPS for OLL or PLL).
Eidolonhttps://www.speedsolving.com/wiki/index.php?title=Truns_Per_Second&diff=2867Truns Per Second2008-12-02T05:03:50Z
Eidolon: Truns Per Second moved to Turns Per Second: Typo
