== Description ==
A very popular category of Rubik's cube software is the playable 3D Rubik's Cube (animated cube), often implemented as a Java applet, which has a long history. The first version of which many current programs are derived was made by Michael Shubart. After that, Karl Hornell made modifications in his version, which again was used by Lars Petrus on his website. Probably the most widely used is RubikPlayer by Werner Randelshofer.

GabbaSoft Inc. was founded in 2005 and is an independent game developing company, mainly focused on developing 3D software. They are best known for their Cube Demo application, which is a program to simulate 3D [[Rubiks_Cube|rubik's cubes]].

Currently their website is down and does not offer any downloads, though a few download mirrors are listed below.

Cube Demo, also known as Puzzle Cube, is a demonstration of 3D [[PC_Software|puzzle software]]. It was originally created to promote interest in Gabbasoft and to gain constructive comments for developing newer [[PC_Software|puzzle software]]. Nowadays it is used by many cubers mainly for solving [[Big_cube|big cubes]].
