The GuHong Cube is a Chinese cube designed by 包大庆(BAO Daqing), who is also the designer of Crazy 4x4x4 series.The name DaYan is the pinyin of his username 大烟头(Da Yan Tou) on MF8 and the logo is a Chinese character "头"(Tou). .

The edges have an unusual shape and split apart in two pieces, similar to one of the V-Cube 6 internal pieces. The corners have stalks and split into thirds and have two little Y-shaped parts that go into holes that are in the corners to attach the thirds. The centers are bigger and different from a normal DIY. It is noted that one of the sides of the core are smaller than the rest, so it is recommended that you either use a different core or force the screw into the hole. When you take off a layer of the cube, you will see that the inner circumference of empty space is smaller that usual.

The cube is extremely fast and smooth. It is also quiet as well. Many people have said that the cube is uncontrollable and a bit prone to popping. Like the Dayan II, it can cut corners at 45 degrees. The GuHong can also reverse corner cut, which is useful if you overshoot a bit. It is recommended to set the tensions to tight, as it may pop.

Guojia is the very first Chinese DIY brand on the market. It was first presented in around 2004 and have been producing various cube models. It is a very innovative brand and invented various designs that greatly improved the speedcubes' performance. Some significant designs are placing tracks on the cubies to reduce turning friction, reduced inner radius of the mechanism to increase tolerance, and symmetrical contacting surfaces on the edge pieces(most 3x3 cubes have edge pieces with a hollow side)

Type A is now known as Alpha.

There are two main series of Alpha speedcubes:

Mainstream Alpha: is usually the guinea pigs for new designs. Some of the significant features include tracks to reduce friction, and lightweight cubicles.

Sealed Alpha: usually referred as "NEW" Alpha, "Alpha (roman numeral)-f", or "Alpha (roman numeral)-SV". These speedcubes aims at even friction between cubies and full contacting surface area on the pieces.

The Haiyan's Cube (Alpha Haiyan) and other Guojia speedcubes (mini 4.6cm&5.2cm, Alpha Common) are not part of these two subgroup. They are individual models in addition to the main series.

}}
Also called 'Alpha I', or the 'Old Type-A'.

This is the very first Chinese DIYkit on the market other than the Rubik's DIY. This cube is quite heavy compared to the Rubik's and other Chinese DIYs.

At first it is called the "Rubik's Clone DIY", and then when the Type C shows up it is called "Thick R-clone", along with Type C being called the "Thin R-clone". Later on 大烟头 (creater of Dayan DIY and Crazy 4x4 series) proposed the naming system of calling them by the order in which they are presented to the market, represented with the Chinese celestial stem characters (甲,乙,丙,丁, etc) and each with the prefix 國 (guo, or "Country"), meaning 國產, or domestic product. Later, the manufactorer regestered 國甲 (guojia) as their trademark.

The turning feels "smooth and sturdy", and could be an excellent speedcube.

Some distunguishing features are:

* Dull yellow core
* Screws with fine threads and small screwhead.
* Large and small washers
* Center caps similar to the old FLAT Rubik's DIY

There have been several differnt molds for this cube, and while they are essencially identical, some of the colors are discountinued and could be sold for a very high price.

Tutorials
There are two main methods for master magic:
* The Pochmann method, forever immortalized in his awesome tutorial video . This used to be the best known method; not the fastest way to go, but you can definitely get under 3 seconds with this. There are ways to optimize it a little beyond this video. The helmet and song are not optional.
* The Ooms method, which is shown slowly in . This method can be very fast but it's a bit trickier than Pochmann and you need a good puzzle to do it properly. Pretty much all of the solves under 2 seconds will be with this method (regular or mirrored), for example . The biggest advantage of this method over the Pochmann one is that you don't need to sing the song.
Manufacturer of the Type-D Cube, also known as YUGA.
Type D
Also called 'GuoYou', Type D cubes ship fully assembled and stickered. The color scheme varies, but generally they are stickered in either the Japanese color scheme or a mirrored version of the Western color scheme. The original stickers are generally not as robust as most vinyl stickers, which is why Cube4You ships a set of better stickers with each cube. Recent Type D orders came stickered with nicer vinyl stickers(similar to storebought stickers) in the Western color scheme. Type D cubes rarely pop, unlike Type A cubes. They also are decent at cutting corners. The argument as to which is better for speedcubing, however, has not been settled. Some people recommend replacing the Type D core with a Type A core. It is also recommended to try a hybrid of this cube with Type C cubies.

Different Types
There are two different types of Type-D cubes. Generation one Type-D's come in many different colors: Pink, Green and Black. The generation 2 Type-D's, also known as Type-D II are white. The stickers that come with the Type-D II are somewhat textured and do not peel off easily. The spinning is very smooth, rarely locks up, cuts corners but sometimes pops if spinning too violently. Each cubie is fully closed and has caps that rarely fall off. If they fall off, to fix it, just simply place the cap back on and push down.
The YJ company also makes 2x2, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, and 7x7 cubes, all these with the exception of the 2x2 and 3x3 use a knock-off v cube mechanism and you should not buy them if you are against knock-offs, the 6x6 also comes partially modded with 2 internal pieces built into the core.

__NOTOC__
PLL is the Permutation of the Last Layer, the last step of many speedsolving methods. In this step, the pieces on the top layer have already been oriented (OLL) so that the top face has all the same color, and they can now be moved into their solved positions. There are 21 PLLs (13 if you count mirrors and inverses as being the same) and each one is named after a letter. The following page gives a list of all of the PLLs, along with a picture and a list of common algorithms for each one. The diagrams below are top views of where you want the pieces to go. For example, the T Permutation (or 'T perm') swaps the UL and UR edges, as well as the UFR and UBR corners. Make sure to try out all of the available algorithms for a case to see which one feels the fastest to you - the same algorithm may not be the fastest for everyone, and shorter algorithms are not always faster than longer ones. PLL is a subgroup of ZBLL.
PLL

Note that all of these algorithms are written in the Western notation, where a lowercase letter means a double-layer turn and rotations are denoted by x, y, and z.
Permutations of Edges Only
This subgroup, EPLL is used as the last step for many speedsolving methods, for example in the VH method (COLL).
