Rowe Hessler is an American cuber from New York and is arguably the fastest 2x2 and 3x3 speed cuber in the world. Rowe also excels in OH and had a good run at BLD which resulted in a North American Record average and his first official world record, respectively.

Rowe is most known for his 2x2 skills and insane TPS. Rowe, the current 2x2 world record holder and world champion, obliterated his own WR average by over half a second in December 2009. Overall, Rowe is an extremely nice guy and fierce competitor. We'll be talking about Rowe for years to come.

CLL, Corners of Last Layer, a method that solves the last layer corners in one algorithm.

CLL is not to be confused with COLL that is an abbrevation for exactly the same name but COLL does also preserve LL edge orientation, sometimes you will need longer algorithms for that.

There are two different sets of CLL, one that is used for corners first (the Waterman method) and the 2x2x2 cube and one that preserves the first two layers on the 3x3x3 cube. In the latter case the LL edges are solved after the CLL using ELL.

As a 2x2x2 Speedsolving Method
The first stage of CLL for the 2x2x2 consists of completely solving one layer of the cube (both orientation and permutation) as in the Layer-By-Layer method. Then, using one of 42 algorithms (2 of which are PLLs), you solve the remaining orientation and permutation of the last layer (thus giving a 1 Look Last Layer). The algorithms needed are given in the CxLL pages. This method is also named the Waterman method after the 1980's master cuber Marc Waterman from the Netherlands who was using it for his corners first method back then (the Waterman documentation).

The world's fastest 2x2 solver, Rowe Hessler, uses this method and it is one of the most popular methods among other world class 2x2 solvers. CLL is essentially just a subset of EG. However, not many people have pursued full EG due the large number of algorithms.

History
CLL was first officially used by Guus Razoux Schultz (WCA) during the WC 1982.
